During the High Coast Winter Hike, we’ll spend three unforgettable days exploring the absolute highlights of this World Heritage–listed region — from frozen coastlines to forested valleys and majestic peaks.

SAFETY FIRST
Setting out on a winter adventure is an incredible experience — and safety is always our top priority. Before we begin the High Coast Winter Hike, we review the essentials of winter trekking to make sure everyone feels confident and prepared.
During the hike, our experienced guides are positioned at the front and back of each group, with additional guides stationed along the trail to support hikers and ensure everything runs smoothly. Because we walk at our own pace, the group naturally spreads out over several kilometers — but you’re never far from help or company.
Each day ends at our shared campsite, where everyone checks in upon arrival so we know you’re safely back. Our guides wear reflective vests, making them easy to spot if you have any questions or need assistance.
During the High Coast Winter Hike, we camp together at shared overnight sites to ensure a safe and supportive experience. If anything should happen during the night, guides are always on site and ready to assist. We’re also joined by outdoor experts from Naturkompaniet, who can help if any equipment issues arise.
However, it’s important to check your gear in advance and make sure you’re comfortable setting up your tent and using your camping stove before the adventure begins.
Product experts from Naturkompaniet will be with us during the adventure – to lead parts of the courses and to assist if anything happens with your equipment.
It’s safer to sleep together with others, especially during winter adventures.

FOOD & DRINK
During the High Coast Winter Hike, we take care of all the meals. When you check in for the adventure at FriluftsByn, you’ll receive your food rations, which you’ll carry with you throughout the hike.
You’re welcome to bring along coffee, tea, nuts, candy, or any favorite snacks to keep your energy and spirits high along the way. Most meals are tasty freeze-dried dishes — light to pack and easy to prepare — so you can eat whenever you’re hungry without needing to follow a strict schedule.
We also serve hot meals at Camp Kälsviken, a welcome treat after a day out in the snow.
MEALS INCLUDED IN THE ADVENTURE
Thursday: Lunch and Dinner.
Friday: Breakfast, lunch, and hot dinner at Camp Kälsviken.
Saturday: Breakfast and Lunch.
*All meals are freeze-dried unless otherwise specified.
WHAT TO BRING YOURSELF
Camping stove, gas / fuel for your stove, coffee, tea, thermos, nuts, candy, energy drinks.
Meal breaks are a cozy part of the adventure. Often, this is a chance to get to know others. You’ll get water by melting snow.
You carry your own food and choose where to have your lunch. However, we’ve planned the hike so that you can enjoy lunch at truly beautiful spots.
